Manage your Jamboards

Use the Jamboard Admin console to view, modify, and update settings for your Jamboard.

Open the Jamboard Admin console

  1. Sign in to the Jamboard Admin console.
  2. At the top, click + Add a filter to filter the list by Name, Location, Note, Health or Status.
  3. Click a device to view and edit the device settings. 

Manage Jamboard settings for your domain

Screensaver Message

To enter a message for the Jamboard screen saver:

  1. At the top of the page, click Settings.
  2. Click Screensaver Message, and enter a message (up to 120 characters).
  3. Click Save.
Strict Sharing

Strict sharing requires the owner of a jam to confirm by email. To turn on strict sharing for your domain:

  1. At the top of the page, click Settings.
  2. Click Strict Sharing.
  3. Click On.
  4. Click Save.
Jam Timeout

As an administrator, you can set a timeout value for all Jamboards in your domain. After a Jamboard is inactive for the set period of time, a message is displayed notifying users that they can either keep the jam open or it will be closed immediately. Note: If the jam does not have an owner, it will not be saved.

To set the timeout value:

  1. At the top of the page, click Settings.
  2. Click Jam Timeout, and choose one of the following: 
    • No timeout
    • 15 minutes
    • 30 minutes
    • 45 minutes
    • 1 hour
    • 2 hours
    • 4 hours
    • 8 hours
  3. Click Save.

Manage Jamboard settings

Edit device settings

To edit a setting, click Down Arrow on the right of the Device settings section, then click the name of the setting.

You can control whether users can edit a setting from the Jamboard. To allow setting changes on the device:

  1. Click the setting.
  2. Click Can be changed on the device.
  3. Click Save.
Setting  Details
Board Name

Set a unique name to identify your Jamboard. 

  1. Enter the Jamboard name.
  2. Click Save.

Enter the location of your Jamboard (such as the conference room where you use it).

  1. Enter the location.
  2. Click Save.
Screensaver Timeout (minutes)

Set how long (in minutes) the Jamboard can be idle before the screen saver activates. The maximum delay you can set is 1440 minutes (1 day). 

  1. Enter the delay time in minutes. 
    Note: You can only enter whole numbers, so don't include commas or any other syntax.
  2. Click Save.
Finger Erasing

Set whether a finger can be used to erase content on the Jamboard. 

  1. Click On or Off to turn it on or off.
  2. Click Save.

Add the Wi-Fi network name.

  1. Enter the name.
  2. Click Save.
Notes Add a note about the Jamboard.
  1. Add a note.
  2. Click Save.
Send log data to Google

Choose whether to send data to Google.

  1. Click the switch to send log data.
  2. Click Save.
Paired Chrome Device for Meetings

Shows the ID of the paired Chromebox or Chromebase for meetings. To add a device:

  1. Enter the name of the device you want to use.
  2. Select the device from the list of matching devices.
  3. Click Save.

To remove a device:

  1. Clear the name of the device.
  2. Click Save to unpair the devices.

Choose a language to be used on the Jamboard. Jamboard currently only supports English and Japanese.

  1. Select a language.
  2. Click Save.


Additional Keyboards

Add an additional keyboard for the Jamboard.

  1. Check the keyboard option.
  2. Click Save.

See device information

The following device information is displayed:

  • Serial number
  • Device activated—the date the Jamboard was first activated.
  • Wireless media access control address (MAC address)
  • Wireless IP address
  • Wi-Fi signal strength—received signal strength indicator (RSSI)
  • Wi-Fi link speed (Mbps)
  • Wired MAC address
  • Wired IP Address

Check device health

You can see whether or not the device is healthy as well as the last heartbeat from the device. 

Add a Jamboard to your domain

To add a Jamboard to your domain, you need an activation code. When a Jamboard is powered on for the first time and connected to an open WiFi network, a screen will appear with an 8-digit activation code. 

  1. Sign in to the Jamboard Admin console.
  2. At the top, click Add Add.
  3. Enter the board location and device name.
  4. Enter the activation code and click Activate Device.

You should see a confirmation. 

Remove a Jamboard from your domain

To remove a Jamboard from your domain:

  1. Sign in to the Jamboard Admin console.
  2. Click the device you want to remove. 
  3. Click Deprovision
  4. Click Deprovision to confirm.
