Occasionally a GGC machine will show a memory fault. This can often be fixed by re-seating the DIMM.
If you’re not comfortable performing this procedure, let us know. We’ll contact our hardware partner to dispatch an on-site technician.
To re-seat a DIMM, follow these steps:
- Connect a screen to the machine.
- Press and hold the power button until the machine powers off.
- Slide the machine out of the rack and open the cover.
- Carefully remove each memory module, and firmly put it back in the slot.
- Close the cover and slide the machine back into the rack.
- Press the power button to start the machine.
- Wait a few minutes for the machine to boot. If the machine halts during boot, take a picture of the screen and send it to us.
- Review the machine health screen.
- If the machine health screen shows any errors or warnings, take a picture of the screen and send it to us.
- Follow the link in the email we sent to let us know DIMM status.
