Memory faults

Occasionally a GGC machine will show a memory fault. This can often be fixed by re-seating the DIMM.

If you’re not comfortable performing this procedure, let us know. We’ll contact our hardware partner to dispatch an on-site technician.

To re-seat a DIMM, follow these steps:

  1. Connect a screen to the machine.
  2. Press and hold the power button until the machine powers off.
  3. Slide the machine out of the rack and open the cover.
  4. Carefully remove each memory module, and firmly put it back in the slot.
  5. Close the cover and slide the machine back into the rack.
  6. Press the power button to start the machine.
  7. Wait a few minutes for the machine to boot. If the machine halts during boot, take a picture of the screen and send it to us.
  8. Review the machine health screen.
  9. If the machine health screen shows any errors or warnings, take a picture of the screen and send it to us.
  10. Follow the link in the email we sent to let us know DIMM status.
