Scheduled Maintenance

Google maintenance

GGC nodes are automatically updated by our systems. When this happens, machines may reboot, network ports may flap, and BGP sessions may migrate between machines. Maintenance is usually scheduled for times when network traffic is low, but may occur at other times.

When a machine or node is under maintenance users are served from other Google data locations.

Our monitoring detects when there’s a problem with the GGC node, so you don't need to contact us for reboots, port flaps, or BGP session changes.

To see recent maintenance, go to the asset pages in the ISP portal and scroll down to Google Maintenances.

ISP scheduled maintenance

You may need to carry out maintenance on your network. If this takes the GGC node offline, it may interrupt Google services, including YouTube. We'll send you a message asking why services are down.

To avoid this interruption, visit the asset pages in the ISP Portal and add your maintenance. Our systems will redirect traffic before maintenance starts, and temporarily suspend alert messages to you.

To shut down machines during maintenance, press and hold the power button until the machine turns off.

You can also use the ISP Portal to cancel maintenance activity. This includes canceling maintenance that’s completed early.
