Add photos & attachments to your emails

You can send photos and files as attachments in Inbox.

Add photos

You can share images in two ways:

Inline: Photos show up within the text of your email so the other person can easily see them.

As an attachment: This option makes it easier for the other person to download or share your photos. Photos are attached to your email as files.

  1. On your computer, open Inbox.
  2. In the compose window, click Attach Attach.
  3. Choose one of your photos.
  4. Your photo will be added inline.
  5. To send as an attachment, in the top right corner of the image, click More More and then Send as attachment.

Tip: You can copy and paste images from webpages, or drag and drop them from your desktop into the email.

  3. Click Select files from your computer.
  4. To attach multiple files, hold the Ctrl (PC) or ⌘ (Mac) key while selecting your files.

Attach files from Google Drive

  1. On your computer, open Inbox.

Troubleshooting

Error: "Oops! The files you are trying to send exceed the 25MB attachment limit."

The total size of your message can be up to 25 megabytes (MB) in size.

To send large attachments, you can use Gmail to insert from Google Drive instead.
