Pause campaigns, ad groups, or hotels

Important: This article applies only to campaigns in the Hotel Ads Center. If you've migrated to Google Ads, read about Hotel campaigns in Google Ads.

Pausing can be used to temporarily stop a campaign from serving ads while leaving bids intact, or to limit a campaign to target only a subset of the account's hotels. When you first create a new campaign, you select whether the campaign is active or paused. All hotels and ad groups in a paused campaign do not participate in auctions.

Pause or unpause a campaign

  1. Open Hotel Ads Center in a browser.
  2. Select the Dashboard tab.
  3. Select View by > Campaign, and in the table at the bottom, select the name of the campaign you want to edit:

  4. You're now in "Campaign View." In the "Status" selector at top, you can choose Active or Paused:

  5. To temporarily pause a campaign that is active, select Paused. To unpause a campaign that is paused, select Active.

    Notes:
    • You can also pause a campaign during setup or by clicking the Campaign Settings button.
    • Pausing or unpausing a campaign only affects whether ads for hotels targeted by that specific campaign will show. It doesn't change the bids or paused/active status of ad groups or hotels within that campaign.

Pause or unpause an ad group

    1. Open Hotel Ads Center in a browser.
    2. Select the Dashboard tab.
    3. Select View by > Campaign, and in the table at the bottom, click the name of the campaign with your ad group.
    4. Select View by > Ad Group, and in the table at the bottom, click the name of the ad group you'd like to pause or unpause.
    5. In the "Status" selector, choose Active or Paused:

Note: Pausing/unpausing an ad group affects whether ads for hotels targeted by that specific ad group will show. It doesn't change the bids or paused/active status of hotels within that ad group.

    Pause or unpause a hotel

    1. Open Hotel Ads Center in a browser.
    2. Select the Dashboard tab.
    3. Select View by > Campaign, and in the table at the bottom, click the name of the campaign with your ad group.
    4. In "Campaign View," use the search bar at the top to find the hotel you want to edit, or navigate to it by opening the ad group that contains the hotel and clicking on the name of the hotel. This will bring you to the "Hotel" view.
    5. In the "Status" selector, choose Active or Paused.

Note: Pausing/unpausing a hotel affects whether ads for that specific hotel in that specific campaign will show. It doesn't cause the hotel to be paused in any other campaigns within the account.
