Resolving property match issues with manual match

The manual match tool gives you a simple way to resolve issues in your hotel list. You can use the tool to fix properties with no matches, an incorrect match, or overlapping properties.

Fix hotels with no matches

  1. Log in to your Hotel Center account.
  2. Click Tools.
  3. From the navigation menu, select Hotel list.
    • You can also access your hotel list by clicking Hotel list beta on the green banner below the top bar.
  4. Access the Data Issues tab to see hotels with critical issues that may prevent property matching or cause incorrect matches.
  5. Find the hotel you want to address and click Match under the “Match status” column.
  6. Paste the Google Maps URL of the hotel.
    • Note: The URL should link to a single property in Google Maps (not multiple properties).
  7. Review if the hotel name and address is correct, then click Submit.

Add a missing hotel to Google Maps

If you can’t find your hotel in Google Maps, you can manually submit the hotel’s information for review. The review process may take up to 3 weeks.

The first time that you use this feature, you'll be asked to acknowledge that you are granting Google perpetual and irrevocable rights for any listings submitted for inclusion in Google Maps. Read the content licensing agreement.

To add a missing hotel to Google Maps:

  1. From the “Match property” window, select Add a missing hotel.
  2. Enter the hotel’s name, address, and phone number.
  3. Select Add to submit your listing for review.

Keep in mind

Only hotels that are open (or will be open within 30 days) can be added. The hotel will be automatically added to your feed and Google Maps upon approval and will be matched if the hotel information you provided is identical to the information in your Hotel List feed.

Fix hotels with map overlap

Match property helps you resolve issues with hotels that overlap on the map.

To fix map overlap issues:

  1. Log in to your Hotel Center account.
  2. Click Tools.
  3. From the navigation menu, select Hotel list.
  4. Click Data issues to see hotels with critical issues that may prevent property matching.
  5. Find the hotel you want to address and click Fix under the “Match status” column.
  6. In the “Match property” window, choose the correct hotel.
    • If none of the options are correct, you can choose to either remove the current match or enter a valid Google Maps URL. You’ll be able to preview the hotel name and address before submitting.
  7. Click Submit.

Verifying your changes

After you have confirmed your changes, it can take up to 2 weeks for your changes to be applied by Google. You can check their status by accessing the “Recent changes” tab on the “Hotel list” page.

Remove property match

You can remove a property match that was previously made but contains data issues. After you remove a property match, you'll see the pending match status in your hotels list. If you mistakenly remove a property match, it has to be manually rematched which can take up to 14 days.

To remove a property match:

  1. Log in to your Hotel Center account.
  2. Click Tools.
  3. From the navigation menu, select Hotel list.
  4. Click Data issues to see hotels with critical issues that may prevent property matching.
  5. Find the hotel you want to address and click Remove match under the “Match status” column.
  6. In the “Remove match” window, confirm the hotel that you want to unmatch.
    • You can also choose to rematch the hotel with a valid Google Maps URL. You’ll be able to preview the hotel name and address before submitting.
  7. Click Submit.
