Find candidates

Use Candidate Discovery's keyword search to find candidates that match with a job opening or skill that you're recruiting for.

  1. Sign in to Hire.
  2. On the left, select Discovery.

  3. Use the Candidate Discovery search bar to find candidates that match a job title, skill, company, or past experience. Click here to view a list of what you can search for in Discovery. 

  4. Below the search bar, select a filter to narrow your results.

Note: Candidate Discovery is only available to Hire users with Admin or Sourcer permissions. Learn more about permissions

Add candidates to collections

You can use Discovery to easily add candidates to a collection. This is helpful when you come across a candidate in Discovery with specific skills or experiences that may be fit for a future job opening. Learn more about adding candidates to collections.

Frequently asked questions

Who can use Candidate Discovery?

Users must have either Admin or Sourcer permissions to access Candidate Discovery. If you don't have access to Discovery, contact your Hire Admin to give you the appropriate permissions. 

Can I use Boolean search in Candidate Discovery?

Candidate Discovery supports the Boolean commands AND, NOT, OR, and the use of parentheses to simplify queries. Learn more about Boolean search 

Why aren't all my candidates showing up in the search results?

Make sure resumes are associated with your candidates' profiles. Candidate Discovery's performance increases when it can parse resumes for additional keywords.
What information is searchable in Discovery?
Not all information on the candidate profile is indexed for search, such as comments and responses to feedback criteria submitted about that candidate. This is because Candidate Discovery is designed to find talent given a candidate's background and skills, and excludes certain fields to keep results relevant. Here is a list of what is searchable for Candidate Discovery:
  • Candidate name
  • Candidate email
  • Candidate location
  • Experience
  • Education
  • Resume (skills, education, experience)
  • Which job the candidate applied for
  • Candidate application status
  • Current stage the candidate is in
  • Rejection reason
  • Candidate experience/education tenure
