Job listings on Google Search, Indeed, and Glassdoor

Jobs published through Hire will automatically show up on Google Search, and, if enabled, on Indeed and Glassdoor. After a job is published, there will be a delay before they show up on Google Search or Indeed and Glassdoor. It will typically take 24 hours for jobs to show up on these external sites. The status of your posting on the job's profile will remain as "Pending" until an application is submitted through the posting.

Requirements for Indeed

  • All jobs submitted should include a zip code, and city and state information is required. When typing in a location for a job in Hire, suggested locations will appear next to a Maps pin . All suggested locations will include a zip code when submitting to job boards.
  • Jobs should be associated with a single location. If you have multiple locations for a job, we suggest creating separate job postings for each job and location.
  • You must enter an email address when enabling posting to Indeed. Hire will ask you to provide an email address after selecting Enable. This is used by Indeed to verify that your company is real.

  • Job titles should be the name of the particular job as it might appear on a business card, with no extra information.

  • Learn more about Indeed's job posting guidelines.

Requirements for Glassdoor

  • Jobs should be associated with a single location. If you have multiple locations for a job, we suggest creating separate job postings for each job and location.
  • Job titles should be the name of the particular job as it might appear on a business card, with no extra information.
  • All jobs submitted should adhere to Glassdoor's Terms of Use.

Sponsored postings

Both Indeed and Glassdoor rank paid listings higher than free listings. By default, jobs sent from Hire are free, or "organic," listings, but you can choose to upgrade your listings if you would like for them to be ranked higher. Contact Indeed or Glassdoor to upgrade your jobs to a premium posting.

Job rankings

Google Search, Indeed, and Glassdoor rank jobs based on relevance. Their ranking algorithms consider a variety of factors to determine how jobs are displayed per query. All jobs submitted through Hire will be given equal weight to all other "organic," or free listings, on these services.

Jobs not appearing on Indeed or Glassdoor

If you had previously posted jobs to Indeed or Glassdoor through another ATS or other recruitment platform, make sure that those postings have been removed before publishing through Hire. Indeed and Glassdoor have strict content guidelines against duplicate postings and won’t post your Hire jobs if your company's job content is already on their platform. These rules also apply to companies who are posting job content that isn't their own, those jobs will be flagged as duplicates and removed from Indeed's and Glassdoor's indexes.

Company logos on Google Search

Google Search indexes content from millions of sources across the web. This includes company logos. In the interest of impartiality, logos aren’t indexed directly from Hire. Reference this developer documentation to learn how to optimize your logo for Google Search.

Post a job to other job boards or aggregators

If you want to post jobs to other job boards or job aggregators and track them through Hire, an Admin must first set up a trackable link for each source. After a job is published, a link can then be created by any User who has the appropriate permissions.
