All users: Sync with G Suite

You need to connect to Gmail, Calendar, and Drive to use the Hire features that work with these services. You can disconnect these apps at any time.

  1. Sign in to Hire.
  2. Select Menu Menu and then Settings. 
  3. Select G Suite features.

​Connect to Google Calendar to schedule interviews in Hire

You can send invitations from your Google Calendar when you schedule interviews in Hire.

Connect to Calendar

  1. Sign in to Hire.
  2. Select Menu Menu and then Settings. 
  3. Select G Suite features.
  4. Toggle Google Calendar on.
  5. Click Allow.

Choose your default calendar for invitations

  1. Sign in to Hire.
  2. Select Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Select G Suite features.
  4. In the to Google Calendar section, click Edit Edit next to "Connected calendar."
  5. Choose your default calendar.
  6. Click Save.
    You can also choose your calendar at the bottom of the Schedule Interview page: click Edit Edit next to "Connected calendar."

Connect to Google Drive to export reports

If you are a Hire Reporter, you can export a report to Sheets by allowing Hire to access your Google Drive. 

  1. Sign in to Hire.
  2. Select Menu Menu and then Settings. 
  3. Select G Suite features.
  4. Toggle Google Drive on.
  5. Click Allow.

You can also download a report as a CSV file.

You'll need to be assigned the Reporter or System Admin role in order to run and export reports. 

Connect to Gmail compose send emails and use email templates

As a member of a hiring team, you can connect your Gmail account to Hire so you can send emails through Hire and use email templates. Connecting to Gmail compose will not cause your emails to sync with Hire. 

  1. Sign in to Hire.
  2. Select Menu Menu and then Settings. 
  3. Select G Suite features.
  4. Toggle Gmail Compose on.
  5. Click Allow.

Connect to Gmail sync to see messages to candidates in Hire

As a member of a hiring team, you can connect your Gmail account to Hire so you can see copies of the messages you send to and from candidates.

Copies of Gmail messages appear in Hire, and messages also stay in your Gmail Inbox until you take actions on them as you normally would. You can remove the message from Hire at any time without deleting it from Gmail.

  1. Sign in to Hire.
  2. Select Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Select G Suite features.
  4. Toggle Gmail Sync on.
  5. Click Allow.
  • Emails between users and candidates are imported and displayed in Hire only if the user is on a hiring team and has permission to edit the candidate profile (i.e. hiring managers, recruiters and coordinators).
  • Emails between a candidate and a user who has read-only access to the candidate profile (interviewers, people @mentioned in a comment) are not imported.
  • Hire Admins will see messages sent to and from all candidates across the company.

Common questions

Whose emails are shown in Hire?

Only emails between hiring team members (who can edit the candidate profile) and a candidate appear automatically in Hire.

Who can see the emails?

Hire Admins can see emails to and from all candidates across the company. Members of the hiring team for a candidate can see emails to and from that candidate.

Can I delete a message from Hire?

Yes. You can go to the candidate's profile and click Delete Delete next to the email you want to delete. This action deletes the email only from Hire--not from Gmail. Note: This action does not prevent future emails you exchange with the candidate from being automatically copied to Hire until you disconnect Gmail from Hire.

How do I know my emails will be captured in Hire?

You can verify that emails are being captured in Hire by checking the Updates tab.

I synced my Gmail account but I don't see my emails in Hire 

Hire only captures emails between you and the candidate you're on the hiring team for. If you're not on the hiring team, Hire will not know that your messages need to be captured.

My emails are being captured but why can't I see any from before I synced?

Ingestion doesn't work retroactively because the permission granted to Hire to parse your emails only applies going forward.

Why can't I see attachments on captured emails?

This is done intentionally to protect the confidentiality of personal documents.
