Join a study

Step 1: Choose your study

  1. Open the Google Health Studies app.
  2. At the bottom, tap Studies.
  3. A list of studies appears. Tap a study to select it, and then tap Read More to get more details about the study.

Step 2 :Join a study

  1. Tap Join study. 
  2. That brings up the Here’s how to join screen.
  3. Tap Get started.
  4.  Answer the set of eligibility questions that come up.
  5. If you do not qualify, you will see the message: “At this time you do not meet our eligibility criteria”.
  6. You can tap Close.
  7. If you qualify, you will see the message: “You’re eligible to participate in this Study”.
  8. Tap Next to continue
  9. The next few screens describe how you will participate in the study, how your data is protected and what data will be collected in the study. At this step, some studies may include a short quiz to confirm you understand the contents of the consent.

Before signing the consent agreement if you have any questions or concerns related to the study, you can contact the researchers, also known as the Principal Investigators.

  1. Tap Next to continue.
  2. When you reach the consent page, make sure to read the details and tap Consent if you’re ready.
  3. You will be asked to consent using your email. 
  4. Now you are enrolled in the study. In the Contribute tab of the app, you will see your first available actions.
The contact information for the Principal Investigator can be found on the Informed Consent Form of the study you’re enrolled in, or the study’s detail page.
