Nexus 5 hangouts (saving pictures) issue

Hello everyone,

I think there is an issue with Google Hangouts. With the new integration of iOS 7, users can select multiple photos in the gallery app to send in one whole MMS. When a user sends more than one photo to my Nexus 5, I can select the photo, but have no way of saving the photo. When the iPhone user sends one single photo, I then can open the photo and save it by pressing the top right menu button. Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks!

Hi,
Can you ask another friend to send multiples photo via MMS to your iPhone and see if you access properly to all photos sent?
Thanks for the report!

Hi Lunix,
I actually have a Nexus 5. My friend is the one with the iPhone that is sending photos to my phone (Nexus 5). Another thing I noticed....within the same thread if they send a single photo MMS after the "multiple photos" MMS...I can no longer select an individual photo in the "multiple photo" MMS. When I try to select a photo....it jumps to the single photo MMS. Really weird.

Hi,
Nice spot!
But can you, with your Nexus 5, send multiple photos MMS?

I'm affraid not. When you are in the hangouts SMS thread it only allows you to select the camera to select one photo, after that you have to send it. You can't attach multiple photos in the SMS thread.

Also when you are in the gallery once you select more than one photo, the hangouts logo disappears. When you select just one picture, the hangout logo is there for you to select to send a picture.

I am having a similar issue, except I cannot view multiple images when they are sent from iOS 7 to my Nexus 5.  I can see the thumbnails in the SMS thread, but when I click on them to open, the app opens only the pictures I sent, not the ones sent to me.

Hi,
I escalated the issue to the team. I’ll go back here if I’ve news or something else to ask. Be patient, there’s really a lot of threads these days.
Have a good morning!

Any luck on this? I just noticed this is happening my self. Is it just pictures from iOS or other phones as well?

I cannot open pictures when multiple files are attached to one MMS from either iOS or Windows phones.

Yeah hopefully the next update will fix these issues. There is article right now that talks about a bug with emoji within Hangouts, and Google states they are fixing it. Hopefully they will fix all the other bugs within Hangouts...

Having the same issue. Photos open just fine until someone sends me a multiphoto MMS.
