Configure database settings

Next, set up your MySQL and CouchDB databases.

Note: Google Workspace Migrate supports CouchDB configured with HTTPS but does not support digest authentication.

Set up the databases

  1. Enter the following information:
    • Host name—Host name or internal IP address of the MySQL or Couch DB server.
    • Port—Port number that the server is using. The default is 3306 (MySQL) or 5984 (CouchDB).
    • Username—Enter migrate.
    • Password—Enter the password generated when you installed the database (not the root password).

      Note: If you installed the database using the command line, the password was specified by the /AdminPassword parameter.

  2. If you're using CouchDB with TLS, check the Use HTTPS box and complete these steps:
    1. Open CouchDB’s local.ini file.
    2. Locate the [ssl] section and add enable = true.
    3. Save the file.

      Example:

      key_file = C:\###############\server-key.pem
      cert_file = C:\################\server-cert.pem
      cacert_file = C:\##############\ca.pem
      enable = true

      For details, go to CouchDB’s HTTPS (SSL/TLS) Options.

  3. Click Continue.
  4. (Optional) To edit the database settings later, in the Google Workspace Migrate platform, click Settings and thenDatabase settings.
