URLs submitted via feeds are not showing up in search results, or appear very far down.

Summary: Documents fed via content feeds are not returned in search results or are showing lower than expected.

Cause: Documents in content feeds have a lower page rank than documents crawled by the search appliance.

Workaround: Below are some options to workaround the issue:

  • Set Pagerank for the feed: Pagerank can be set in the content feed. This is described in the feed developers guide.
  • Use source biasing: Create a source biasing rule for the URLs in the content feeds to promote results from the feeds. A similar workaround can be achieved by feeding unique metadata in the feed and creating a metadata biasing rule for it.
