Search appliance not sending the daily status email

Summary:  The search appliance is not sending the daily status email.


Cause:   The search appliance cannot communicate with the configured SMTP server.

Troubleshooting:  

  1. Make sure the search appliance is able to communicate with the configured SMTP server.  This can be done using the Host to ping utility in Admin Console on the Administration > Network Settings page. 
  2. Verify whether the e-mail server is working. Click Forgot my password link in the Admin Console login screen and proceed using onscreen instructions. This will send a password reset email.
