Summary: Learn to customize the brief text that the GSA presents under a link for a specific document in the search results.
Cause: In the search results, the GSA will determine the most relevant text from a document and present that to the user below the link to the document.
Fix: There are two options for modifying the snippet.
- Follow the directions in Replacing the Result Snippet with Custom Text to add a meta tag to the actual document and modify the front end to pull the snippet from the meta tag.
- Use the "googleoff:snippet" and "googleon:snippet" tags to specify which content should not be used as a snippet. See Excluding Unwanted Text from the Index.
