Summary: The Admin Console shows:

Crawl has stopped because network connectivity test of Start URLs failed


Cause: This error message will show if more than 90% of start URLs return non-200 responses.


Troubleshooting:

  1. One by one, copy the URLs listed in the Start Crawling from the Following URLs box in the Content Sources > Web Crawl > Start and Block URLs page in Admin Console into the Manual fetch request utility. This utility is located on the Admin Console page Content Sources > Diagnostics > Real-time Diagnostics.
  2. The utility will display HTTP headers and response codes from the web server. If the URLs return a non-200 response, use the Errors from Web Servers document to determine the best way to troubleshoot the issue.
  3. When more than 10% of the URLs return 200 responses, the search appliance will resume crawling.
