Google Groups lacks modern web accessibility features

I’m new to using Google Groups forums and I noticed that the Google Groups webpage when viewed in Safari on an iPad does not respond to the normal accessibility feature of increasing the text size using the zoom control. When pressing the command + keys, the text size and font does not change and is still small and hard to read.

I searched on the Google Help site for Google Groups and the only post there said that the only way to control the text is with the “global device settings”. So I tried that using the control panel to set type size larger, and it only affected the text in the location URL area at the top, above the Google Groups web page. The text size in the Google Groups itself is unaffected by the global device controls and is also unaffected, as I said before, with the Safari zoom controls.

If you compare this functionality to groups.io, you’ll see that groups.io functions correctly zooming the text size accordingly. This appears to be a basic web accessibility feature that modern websites should support and it’s curious that Google groups is in a fixed type type size and the user is not able to zoom or control the type face.

Am I missing something? Is there an obvious way to do this or should I report a bug and have the Google web programmers fix this problem to make Google groups more modern and accessible.

Thank you for your attention
