Mark conversations as duplicates or no action needed in classic Groups

If you're signed in to a work or school account, the options you see might be different. To learn more, contact your administrator.

People who have the Content moderator permission can mark conversations as duplicates.

Note:  Currently, this feature is only available in classic Groups, but it’s planned for new Groups.

  1. Sign in to Google Groups.
  2. Click My groups.
  3. Click the name of a group.
  4. Select topics by checking the box beside them.
  5. At the top, click Actions.
  6. Select Set as duplicate.
  7. Type the name of the topic that is duplicated.
  8. Click OK. "Is a duplicate" appears in the topic information.
  9. To remove the duplicate setting, select the conversation marked as a duplicate, then click Actions > Unset duplicate.

Mark conversations as no action needed (or change action setting for a topic)

Note:  Currently, this feature is only available in classic Groups, but it’s planned for new Groups.

  1. Sign in to Google Groups.
  2. Click My groups.
  3. Click the name of a group.
  4. Select topics by checking the box beside them.
  5. At the top, click Actions.
  6. Select Mark no action needed. "No action needed" appears in the topic information.
  7. If a conversation requires action in the future, select it, then select "Unmark no action needed".
