I’m not receiving my group’s emails

If you’re not getting emails from your group or you’re getting summaries instead of emails, there are a few possible reasons.

I’m not getting email from my group

First, check your email delivery setting

  1. Go to the group’s homepage.
  2. At the top right, click or touch the “My settings” icon .
  3. Select Membership and email settings.
  4. Review your “Email delivery preference.” Make sure that you haven’t selected “Don’t send email updates.”
  5. Make any changes, then click or touch Save.

Second, check your spam folder

  1. Go to your inbox, then open the Spam folder. (This folder may have another name, like Junk.)
  2. Browse or search for your group’s emails.
  3. If you find any, select the messages and click or touch the Not spam button. This will move the messages to your inbox.
  4. To prevent group emails from being sent to Spam again, add a filter.

Third, try a different email

Join the group with an email account from another email service.

Another possible cause is an email block. Some email services block all mail from Google Groups, and we’re working with them to remove blocks. When a block is lifted, you may receive a surge of email.

I’m getting summaries instead of emails

If you are sent an unusually large number of emails from a group, we may change how they are delivered to you. You may now be notified of posts in batches rather than in single emails. To check and change your setting:

  1. Go to the group’s homepage.
  2. At the top right, click or touch the “My settings” icon .
  3. Select Membership and email settings.
  4. Review your “Email delivery preference.”
  5. Make any changes, then click or touch Save.
