If you’ve turned on 2-Step Verification and are trying to sign in to your Google Account through a device, mobile application or desktop application, you’ll need to enter an application-specific password.

You’ll need to create a different application-specific password for each device or application you’d like to use with your Google Account. For example, if you access your Google Account on both your Android phone and the Picasa desktop application, you’ll need need to create an application-specific password for each.

If you’re having trouble using an application-specific password on your phone:

  1. Go to on your phone's browser.
  2. Enter your username and password, then type the letters on the screen.
  3. Go back to the application you're trying to access and enter your application-specific password.
