Upon submission/application, we received this response from Google:
Your ads lead to a website that cannot be approved in its current state. The website should pertain to your organization, show a clear mission, substantial content of a non-commercial nature, and be of high-quality. Please refer to the Ad Grants website policy for more information.
Here are the landing pages that our Ads link to:
Based on the website policy, there are a few things I think that could be keeping us from being approved... but it's not clear to me.
- Pagespeed? We've attempted to make the site/pages faster, but have also read that Shopify sites normally score poorly on Google Page Speed results, even if they are not that bad in reality.
- Commercial? We've made it as clear as possible that our product sales all go to support the nonprofit cause, with photos, text and story content throughout. But could this still be the issue, simply because our nonprofit is sustainably funded through Fair Trade e-commerce sales?
- Our domain (shop.mercyhouseglobal.org) re-directs to a shopify domain https://mercy-house.myshopify.com. I've tried to request new domains added twice, and been denied with really confusing reasons described. Could this be the problem? (because we don't own myshopify.com?)
Would love anyone's help! At this point, we've spent dozens of hours building ads, editing the pages, and submitting multiple times.
I would especially love to hear from someone who has had experience getting a Shopify/e-commerce related nonprofit approved to see if that could be the issue and how to overcome it...
Thanks so much for any help you can offer us.
