Google Ad Grants activation guide

Google Ad Grants has a new activation process that makes it easier and quicker for you to activate. If you have already started the Ad Grants activation process, follow the instructions in your Google for Nonprofit account to continue your activation.

If you have not been approved through Google for Nonprofits, please visit the Google for Nonprofits website.

Please complete the steps below.

You will need to use the same user name for your Google for Nonprofits and Ad Grant accounts. For example, if you signed up for Google for Nonprofits using, your Ad Grants account will also be associated with that email address. You can invite additional users to access and manage your Ad Grant account after activation.

Step 1: Verify that your website is secure with HTTPS

  1. Sign in to Google for Nonprofits
  2. Click Get started under Google Ad Grants
  3. Enter the website your organization will use for Ad Grants
  4. Click Submit website to check if your website is secure

Step 2: Complete the Ad Grants eligibility form

  1. Fill out the assessment by clicking the eligibility form link. This should take 20-minutes and is intended to identify organizations eligible for the Ad Grants program and to help us learn more about those organizations. With your responses, we'll aim to improve your experience and effectiveness to support your organization.

Step 3: Submit your activation for review

  1. Return to Google for Nonprofits
  2. Click Get started under Google Ad Grants
  3. Click the checkbox confirming you have completed the eligibility form
  4. Click Submit activation request to submit your activation for review

Your activation request will be reviewed and you'll receive an email with further instructions. The review typically takes 3 business days.
