Turn off green dot in upper R corner of Chromecast screen W/OUT disabling microphone entirely
As many, MANY people have requested online - how do you disable the annoying green dot that stays permanently lit in the upper right hand corner of your Chromecast screen without completely disabling the microphone for the entire device? I looked at the apps that are using it and there are only four, Google and YouTube being the first two. The only other one using it is the Vudu app & GBoard, and neither are open seeing as I'm watching a purchased movie in Google TV. Why does the microphone need to be active and the green dot lit up for that? I know Google is aware of it because everyone says the same thing online in multiple places about this issue. It's annoying, unnecessary, and totally takes away from the experience of trying to enjoy what you're watching on the screen. That should be such a simple fix, but no one can seem to give a straight answer or an easy fix, which makes even less sense. Is there no way to turn off that annoying green light without completely disabling the microphone and having to type in everything you want to search? If that's the case, the Chromecast is going right back to Walmart. Please advise. Thx
Sincerely,
