Some Google TV services use your data to help Google TV run.
How Google TV worksYou can bring together films, TV shows, sports programmes, apps and subscriptions, and organise them with Google TV.
Important: Data is encrypted in transit.
Google collects certain information to provide it to Google TV. Some of this functionality uses Google Play services. For example, Google TV may collect:
- Your watchlist, watch activity and streaming services for recommendations. Learn how to understand recommendations on Google TV.
- Approximate location, user and device IDs, app interactions, crash logs, diagnostics, other actions and other IDs for app functionality, analytics, advertising/marketing (for TV devices only, if applicable) and personalisation purposes.

- When Google TV's location setting is off and the Internet is connected, Google or third parties may still receive your general location through your Internet Protocol (IP) address.

When Location is on
- When Google TV’s location setting is on, apps with location permission can access your device's location to give you location-based info, services or ads.
- If Google TV’s location setting is on, data such as wireless signals and sensor info can be collected to improve location accuracy and location-based services. Learn about how Location Accuracy improves location.
When Location is off
- To turn your location off, go to Settings

For a customised home-screen experience on your TV, you can add more than one profile to your Google TV and sign in to Google services with multiple accounts. This is especially helpful if there are other users in your household.
Important: If you use an enterprise account, like one for work or school, some services might not work. For more information, contact your organisation's administrator.
Add another account
- From the Google TV home screen, go to your profile picture or initial.
- Select your name
+ Add account.
- Select Add an account.
- On your phone, scan the QR code. Alternatively, on your Google TV, select down.
- Sign in to the Google Account that you want to add.
- Follow the prompts to complete the profile setup.
- Select the streaming services that you want to use with this profile.
Delete your data from the Google TV mobile app
User data stored on Google TV mobile that you can delete: Your impressions, clicks and watch history- On your device, open a browser.
- Go to My Activity.
- Search for Google TV or Play Movies.
- Tap More
Delete.
You can manage your movies or TV shows, watchlists and services that you use in the app.
- You can find your likes, dislikes, watched and watchlists on the movie or show detail pages.
- You can find your services in 'Manage services'.
- At the top, tap your profile picture or Menu
Manage services.
- On your Google Account, select the saved services that you no longer need.
- Tap Next
Done.
You can clear your app cache.
- On iOS: In the Google TV app, go to settings.
- On Android: Go to the Android system Google TV app info page.
