If you're in the United States, the Live section of your home screen includes live channels from Google TV. You can get more live TV when you add service providers and complete the necessary steps.

Google TV comes with live TV channels at no charge and with no app installation, sign-up, or subscription needed. You can browse Google TV channels in the Live tab, your recommendations, or the Google TV channel player.

Restrict adult content
You can use content restrictions to help screen out adult content for you or others on your TV. Content restrictions are optional settings for Google TV channels. To turn content restrictions on or off:
- Sign in to your account.
- Go to the "For You" tab.
- Select Settings
Accounts & Sign-in.
- Select the account you want to restrict.
- Select Content Restrictions
Google TV channels.
- Turn on or off.
Change your ad settings
Ads that play on Google TV channels may be personalized based on your device’s advertising ID. Learn how to change your device ad settings.
Watch live TV from other providers
Live TV channels from apps like Haystack News, Plex, Pluto TV, and Tubi are available at no charge. You can browse their channels in the Live tab, your recommendations, and search results. To watch their channels, you must install their apps. You can also add live TV channels from paid subscriptions like YouTube TV, Sling TV, and Philo.
YouTube TVIf you have a YouTube TV subscription and want to add it to your Google TV, add the Google Account you use for your YouTube TV subscription. When you open the app, you might need to switch accounts.
Tip: If you select YouTube TV as one of your streaming services, you may get YouTube TV recommendations in Google TV. Learn how to change the settings of your streaming services.
To add Sling TV to your Google TV:
- Download the Sling TV app. Learn how to install apps on Google TV.
- Link Sling TV to your Google Account. Learn how to link a service with your account.
To add Philo to your Google TV:
- Download the Philo app. Learn how to install apps on Google TV.
- Add Philo to your list of services. Learn how to add or remove a streaming service.
Choose your favorite channels
To select favorite channels:
- On your Google TV, go to the "Live" tab.
- In the channel guide, find a channel you want to set as one of your favorites.
- Go to the channel name and select it.
- A star shows up to confirm that the channel is now in your favorites.
- At the top of your channel guide, go to the “Favorites” section.
