Find something to watch

You can find recommendations for things to watch on your Google TV’s home screen. You can also search for something specific or look for something to watch in a streaming app or on live TV.

Search for something to watch

On a Google TV device:

1. On your remote, press the Google Assistant button .
2. Enter or say your search.
3. Your results appear on the screen.

Or you can also:

1. At the top of the Google TV home screen, select Search .
2. Enter your search.
3. Your search results appear on the screen.

In the Google TV app:

1. At the top left, tap Search .
2. Type your search.
   • To speak your search, tap Microphone .
3. Your results appear on the screen.

What you can search for

• A specific show, like 'Game of Thrones'
• A genre, like 'crime shows'
• An actor or director, like 'movies with Meryl Streep'

Continue watching content that you didn't finish

• If you start a show or movie, but don’t finish it, you can find it on the Google TV home screen under ‘Continue watching’. You can resume a movie or show, or start the next episode of a show that you're watching.
• If you have multiple profiles on your TV, you might find movies and shows that other people watched.
• You'll find content from most apps in the 'Continue watching' section. A few apps don't make their content available.
• You can find movies, episodes and TV series, but live TV, sports, news or music may not show up in the 'Continue Watching' section right now.

Hide content from Continue watching on your TV

To hide a show or movie that you don't want to finish watching:

1. On the Google TV home screen, select the For you tab.
2. Scroll to 'Continue watching'.
3. Highlight the content that you want to hide.
4. Press and hold the select button on your remote.
5. Select Hide.

Remove recent searches

1. At the top of the Google TV home screen, select Search .
2. Navigate to the search result that you want to remove.
3. On your remote, press and hold the Select button.
4. Select Remove from this TV.
   • The item is removed from your Google TV, but not from your Google Account. Learn how to delete your Google Assistant activity.
