Manage your history & recommendations

Manage your Google Play Music listening history

To turn web and app activity on or off:
  1. Open your Google Play Music settings menu.
  2. Go to the Privacy & location section.
  3. Click Manage Activity Controls.
  4. Toggle Web & App Activity on or off.

You can also go directly to your account settings page to toggle Web & App Activity on or off.

Delete your recommendation history

To delete your entire history on Google Play Music:
  1. Open your Google Play Music settings menu.
  2. Go to the Privacy & location section.
  3. Click Delete Recommendation History.

This will remove your listening history, search history, and any other history you’ve ever had on Google Play Music that helps us provide personalized recommendations.

Note: This does not remove your play counts (i.e., how many times you’ve listened to each track) or your song ratings (i.e. thumbs up or thumbs down) on individual tracks.

Download your music

Download uploaded & purchased music through Music Manager

  1. Open Google Play Music Manager.
  2. Click Download.
  3. Click Download my library or Download free and purchased.

Download an archive of your Google Play Music library

To download an archive of your library (including a list of all your songs, playlists, artists, etc.), follow the steps for downloading your data.
Note: This archive you download will not include any audio. Your download will only include a list of the content in your Google Play music library.

Delete your entire library

To delete all of the music you’ve purchased, uploaded, or added to your library on Google Play Music:

  1. Go to your Google Play Music settings page in a web browser on your computer.
