Find the names of songs playing around you with Google Sound Search.
Note: Sound Search is only available in select countries/regions on devices running Android 4.0 and higher.
Add Sound Search to your device
Make sure you have the Google Search App installed. To download the app:
- Open the Google Play Store app

- Search for "Google".
- If it's not already installed, tap Install.
Once you have the Google Search App:
- On your device, touch and hold the Home screen.
- Tap Widgets.
- Swipe right or scroll down until you see "Google". Scroll to the right to find “Sound Search". Drag the note icon
to your home screen.
How to Use Sound Search
With Sound Search on your home screen
- While a song is playing, tap the Sound Search widget
.
- You should see a song card with details about the currently playing song (or “Couldn't find any close matches”).
With Voice Search
- Tap the Microphone
. If music is playing, a note icon should appear
. Tap the icon.
- You should see a song card with details about the currently playing song (or “Couldn't find any close matches”).
View your search history
Android 6.0 and up: To view your search history, go to Sound Search History. To delete your history, tap More next to the search bar
Delete Results.
