Create and update music playlists
You can add, reorder, and remove songs, albums, and playlists through the Google Play Music app or the Google Play Music web player. You can add up to 1,000 songs to a playlist.
Create a playlist or add to an existing playlist
Subscribers: Subscribers can add purchased, uploaded, or subscription tracks to playlists.
Non-subscribers: Non-subscribers can add purchased or uploaded music to playlists.
On your mobile device- Open the Google Play Music app

- Next to an album or song, tap the Menu icon
> Add to playlist.
- Tap New playlist or an existing playlist name.
Add a song or album
- Go to the Google Play Music web player.
- Hover over a song or album and select the Menu icon
> Add to Playlist.
- Select New playlist or an existing playlist name.
Add multiple songs at once
- Go to the Google Play Music web player.
- Select a song.
- Press and hold the Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) key.
- Select the songs you want to add.
- Near the top of your screen, select the Menu icon
> Add to Playlist.
- Select New playlist or an existing playlist name.
Add a range of songs at once
- Go to the Google Play Music web player.
- Select a song.
- Press and hold the Shift key.
- Select the last song you want to add.
- Near the top of your screen, select the Menu icon
> Add to Playlist.
- Select New playlist or an existing playlist name.
Remove, reorder, or delete songs or full playlists
On your Android mobile deviceRemove a song from a playlist
- Open the Google Play Music app

- Tap the Menu icon
> Music library.
- Swipe to the "Playlists" menu.
- Select the playlist you'd like to change.
- Next to the song you'd like to remove, tap the Menu icon
> Remove from playlist.
Rearrange a song inside a playlist
- Open the Google Play Music app
.
- Tap the Menu icon
> Music library.
- Swipe to the "Playlists" menu.
- Select the playlist you'd like to change.
- For the song you'd like to move, touch and hold the lines next to the song title to drag it to your desired position.
Delete a playlist
- Open the Google Play Music app
.
- Tap the Menu icon
> Music library.
- Swipe to the "Playlists" menu.
- Next to the playlist you'd like to delete, tap the Menu icon
> Delete.
Remove a song from a playlist
- Open the Google Play Music app
.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap Library.
- Swipe to the "Playlists" menu.
- Select the playlist you'd like to change.
- Next to the playlist title, select the Menu icon
> Edit playlist.
- Next to the song you'd like to remove, tap the Delete icon
> Delete.

Delete a playlist
- Open the Google Play Music app

- At the bottom of the screen, tap library.
- Swipe to the "Playlists" menu.
- Next to the playlist you'd like to delete, tap the Menu icon
> Delete.

- Select the Menu icon
> Music library > Playlists.
- Select the playlist you'd like to change.
- Hover over the song you want to remove and select the Menu icon
> Remove from playlist.
Rearrange a song inside a playlist
- Go to the Google Play Music web player.
- Select the Menu icon
> Music library > Playlists.
- Select the playlist you'd like to change.
- Select and drag a song to your desired position.
Delete a playlist
- Go to the Google Play Music web player.
- Select the Menu icon
> Music library > Playlists.
- Hover over the playlist you'd like to change.
- Select the Menu icon
> Delete playlist.
Find your playlists
On your mobile device- Open the Google Play Music app

- Tap the Menu icon
> Music library or My Library. On iPhone or iPad, at the bottom of the screen, tap Library.
- Swipe to the "Playlists" menu.
- Go to the Google Play Music web player.
- Select the Menu icon
> Music library > Playlists.
