Choosing public apps

You can select and approve a range of free apps from the Managed Google Play store, organize them in pages using your Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) console, and make them available to individual employees in your organization.

After you approve an app, you can use the EMM console to make it available to users so they can install it. You can also use the EMM console to remotely uninstall apps from a user's device.

Find free apps
When you open the Managed Google Play store you see a selection of apps that you can approve for use in your organization. If you don't see the app you're looking for, you can search the full Google Play app catalog:
  1. Go to Managed Google Play.
  2. Enter a search term in the search bar.
  3. From the All Apps menu, select All Apps.
  4. From the All Prices menu, select Free.
Approve free apps for users to install

To approve an app:

  1. Sign in to Managed Google Play.
  2. Search for, and click the app you’d like to approve.
  3. Click Approve.
  4. To accept the app permissions on behalf of your company, click Approve.
  5. Click Done.
Remove free apps from the approved list
If you decide that you no longer want a free app available to users, you can remove it from the list of approved apps. When you remove an app from the approved list, anyone who hasn't installed the app no longer sees it in the Managed Google Play store. If someone has installed it, it remains visible in My Apps until it is uninstalled.

To remove an app from the approved list:

  1. Sign in to Managed Google Play.
  2. From the Store Home menu, select My Company Apps.
  3. From the All Apps menu, select Free.
  4. Click the app that you want to remove.
  5. Click Unapprove button.
  6. Click OK button.
