Charts

To provide additional partner insights, we have released Top Charts in the Reports & Insights section of the Play Music Portal. Top Charts reveals trending albums as well as artists in music each week, based on Google Play Music (GPM) subscription plays.

Each week, you'll see the following charts, globally and by region, for all labels collectively and for just your own catalog:
  • Top 100 Tracks
  • Top 100 Albums
  • Top 100 Artists
  • Top 50 Trending Artists: artists that saw a 50%+ increase in subscription plays week-over-week

Chart Filters

  • Use the filters above the charts to select the week, region (including ALL for global), and label coverage (just your labels or all labels collectively).
  • The default view is the most recent complete week, ALL regions, and your labels.
  • Navigate to each chart by clicking the tabs just below the filters.

Charting Timeframe

Chart weeks are defined as the industry standard of Friday-to-Thursday. Dates are defined by the release timezone in each region. For example, US release dates are defined by Eastern time; therefore, the Friday-to-Thursday usage window will be defined by Eastern time for the US region.

The most recent week's chart will generally be available by the following Monday AM your local time. For example, the charts for the week of 2016-11-18 (covering 2016-11-18 through 2016-11-24) will be available by Monday AM your local time on 2016-11-28.

The Portal has charts starting with the week of 2016-09-16.

Exporting Your Charting Data

  • Export a chart by clicking EXPORT TO CSV in the bottom right corner of the chart.
  • Each chart entry offers a smartlink pointing to the corresponding GPM/Store page.
