Play games shows "no Internet Connection" but I am connected.

Specifically, the Play Games app cannot detect an internet connection. Ironically, I go to the help section from within said app, and here I am posting about the issue in this forum.
All other apps, even Play apps have no problem connecting,so it is a bug or quirk with this particular app.
Anyone run into this and have a solutionsolution?

Hi summaestudios,

Welcome to the Google Play Help Forum. Let's see if clearing the cache helps the gaming issue you are having. First, make sure you have a strong internet connection. Next, go to Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Games > CLEAR CACHE. Next, restart your device and see if the issue is still there. If the issue is still there, go back and uninstall updates on the app. Again, restart and hopefully you will be gaming in no time!

Cheers,

-Ian

This just started happening to me, too. On a Note 4. Tried all the troubleshooting steps with no luck.

EDIT: Turns out it's happening on my Samsung tablet, as well.

It's obviously not on our end, its an issue with the app. I have talked to many people who are all having the same issue on all different devices.

I am having the exact same problem as well, it just started today 9 sep and is on two different phones so not a cache issue. I have this issue with multiple games as well. Clash of Clans, Dragon Blaze, Castle Clash. I have reloaded Google Play Games and it recognize my email address however it will not load into the game. I have reloaded clash of clans and when trying to Sign In with my Google Play Games account it shows the email address but when selected it does nothing. (This happened inside the game as well when disconnecting and reconnecting to my account). When trying to Sync my google account it says it has synced today at the time I tried it so that seems to be working.

Hi guys,

Welcome to the Google Play Help forum. Try deleting and then recreating your Google+ account that was created by the game app.
Once re-created, it should start working again. Let me know your results and thanks for your patience.

Hi guys,

I just found that the last suggestion may not work since not all games support that method. If you are still having the issue, try this fix. If you can, launch My Games > swipe left > click on email > Manage accounts. From there, click on Google > sync email accounts (round arrows). Restart your device and try to log in. Let me know if this helped. Thanks for your patience guys.
