Can't subscribe to Google Play Music - 'Server error. Try again later.'

I have a free 90 day trial of google play music that came with the purchase of a Chromecast, but I am unable to sign up to the service. I follow the links, but when I try to subscribe I get an error 'Server error. Try again later.'

I have not subscribed in the past. I am trying to subscribe using an Apple Mac desktop. I have tried numerous times over the past few days, but always get the same error. Could you please advise if the service is down, and if not how I can subscribe to your service and take up the offer.

Many thanks

Hi there,

Are you still experiencing this issue? If so:

  • What browser and version are you using?

  • What operating system and version are you using?
  • Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies?
  • Have you tried using another browser?

I have exactly the same problem. I am using Windows 7 and Chrome (latest version 39.0.2171.95 m).  I cleared my cache and cookies.

I'd try another computer or browser but this is the only one on the same network as my Chromecast and don't I need to use my Chromecast to validate is serial number and eligibility of the offer?  Supposedly the offer expires today (31 Dec).

Other suggestions?

Hi,

I've cleared the cache and cookies, but I'm still getting the error, I've attached a screen shot.

I'm using Google Chrome - Version 39.0.2171.95 (64-bit) and Mac OS X - 10.6.8

Many thanks

I had success redeeming the offer using my Android tablet. I used the Chromecast app to connect to my Chromecast. Then I used Check for Offers in the app menu and redeemed the offer for Play Music free trial. When I clicked the button that normally yields the error, it went through and I could sign up.
I hope you are able to try this alternative and it works for you. Good luck.

I also can't get in, says Server Error...  When will this be fixed?  I cannot sign up.  I have tried the following systems:

iPhone
Mac Chrome
Nexus 9
Windows IE

Nothing works, it seems like I cannot subscribe, please help.

After many attempts on both Mac desktop and Chromecast App on iPad, I finally managed to subscribe using the app on the iPad.

Don't know if something has been fixed or it was just luck. The only advise I can give is to keep trying, think the 90 day free subscription is still available until Jan 31st.

Good luck!

Hi
I have the same problem - I have tried on multiple browsers (having cleared cache history) on my ipad, my iphone and my mac.
I have been trying for two straight days now -
so far not at all impressed by Google Play Music

I had a similar issue - the problem was in Google Wallet. My "home address" did't match the country I was currently in. Once I updated the home address (the gear button in the top right in google wallet) the issue was gone both on google play and google music.

I know it's been forever ago, but thank  you! I checked the country in Google Payment Center and it was different from the country I am actually in. Thank you so much!
