Delete your tracks

Note: By deleting a track, you will lose all the data associated with it. You will not be able to retrieve it later. Also, please note that removing a track from your album will not remove the track from a buyer's locker.

Delete a track on an unpublished album

To delete a track from an unpublished album:

  1. From the Artists & Music tab, click the Upload & Edit button.
  2. Find the album, and click the Edit Album button.
  3. Next, you will be taken to a general editing page, where you can click Edit Tracks.
  4. On the following page, you will be able to delete tracks from your album. Click the X next to the track name to delete the track, and confirm the deletion of the track by clicking OK.
  5. Remember that in order to publish an album, you need to submit your content to Google Play. Note that you can also save changes without submitting by clicking Save for Later.

Deleting a Track on an Already Published Album

To delete a track from an album already live on Google Play:

  1. From the Artists & Music tab, click the Upload & Edit button.
  2. Locate the album with the track you would like to delete.
  3. Unpublish the album by clicking the Unpublish button.
  4. Next, click Edit Album next to the album.
  5. You will then be taken to a general editing page, where you can click Edit Tracks.
  6. On the following page, you will be able to delete tracks from your album. To do so, click the X next to the track name to delete the track, and confirm the deletion of the track by clicking OK.
  7. Remember that since you unpublished your album, you will need to re-submit it in order for it to go live again on Google Play. Re-submitting an album will put it through another basic policy review by the Google Play artist support team.
