Upload your tracks

Note: You cannot upload a track without an album associated to it. To upload a single, check out this article. You may want to use the same name for both track name and album name, like a traditional music single.

Adding a track to a New Album

During the process of creating a new album, you can add as many tracks as you'd like to the album.

Adding a track to an unpublished Album

Additionally, for an unpublished album, you can always add more tracks:

  1. From the Artists & Music tab, click the Upload & Edit button.
  2. Locate the album to which you'd like to add the track.
  3. Click the Edit Album next to the album.
  4. Go to step 3. Upload Tracks.
  5. Select Add tracks.
  6. Select music files you would like to add to the album.
Note: When uploading music files to the Google Play artist hub, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights. Please make sure that you own rights to all music files uploaded into the artist hub.
  7. After uploading tracks, you may choose to edit your track information.
  8. Remember, too, that you'll need to submit your album in order for it to go live on Google Play.

Adding a track to a published Album

To add a track to an already-published album:

  1. From the Artists & Music tab, click the Upload & Edit button.
  2. Locate the album to which you would like to add the track.
  3. Unpublish the album by clicking the Unpublish button.
  4. After you unpublish the album, click the Edit Album button next to the album.
  5. Next, you will be taken to a general editing page, where you can click Edit Tracks.
  6. In the following page, select Add Tracks.
  7. Then, select the music files you would like to add to the album, and edit your track information.
  8. Important: Since you have unpublished your album, please remember to re-submit your album so it goes live again in Google Play. After you have re-submitted the album, the Google Play team will review your changes and post them live.
