You can use your phone or computer to install apps and content on other devices, such as your watch or car.
You can also get apps and games for your Wear OS watch from the Google Play Store.
Tip: To use apps from the Play Store, your watch must run Wear OS 2 or newer. Learn how to check your watch version.
Get apps for your watch
- Press the power button on your watch to wake up your device.
- Press the power button again to open the menu of apps.
- Scroll down and tap the Google Play Store

- Find an app:
- To browse for an app, scroll down to see top app categories like Featured Apps, Track your activity, and Watch Faces on your phone. Tap any category to see related apps.
- To search for a new app, tap Search

- Tap the app and follow the on-screen instructions to get the app.

.Browse for apps
- Go to the Wear OS section of the Play Store.
- Search or browse for apps.
- Select an item.
- Click Install (for items at no charge) or the item's price.
- Where it says "Choose a device", select your Wear OS device and click Install. Tip: You may need to click the Down arrow

- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the transaction and get the app.

You can also search for specific apps on play.google.com/store.
Tip: Not all apps available for Android phones are also available for Wear OS watches. If you don’t have the option to install the app on your watch, it’s probably not compatible with Wear OS.
When you install an app which works on Wear OS on your phone you can install it on your watch as well.
- On your phone, open the Google Play Store app
- Install an app on your phone which also works on Wear OS.
- After it’s installed, check your watch. You should see a notification about the app.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the app on your watch.
You can use your watch to find all the apps you have on your phone that also work on your watch. Follow the instructions under "Get apps for your watch" instructions above and look for the category "Apps on your phone."
Remove apps from your watch
You can remove apps from your watch with your watch settings menu.
Common questions about using Google Play on Wear OS
Not all apps which work with Android phones also work on Wear OS devices.
- When you browse or search for apps on your Wear OS device, all the apps you see will work on Wear OS.
- When you use Google Play on the web, not all apps will work on your watch. However, all of the apps in the Wear OS section of the Play Store will work. If you try to install an app from the web and you don’t have the option to install the app on your watch, it’s probably not compatible with Wear OS.
How do I use a different account to download apps
To use a different account:
- Press the power button to wake up your device.
- Press the power button again to open the menu of apps.
- Scroll down and tap the Google Play Store
- Swipe the navigation drawer down from the top of the screen.
- Tap your account

.Issues with my PIN
You can use your Google Account PIN number to buy things on your watch. If you don’t already have one, you’ll choose one when you make your first purchase on Wear OS. You may need to complete part of this set up on your mobile device.
If you need, you can change your Google Account PIN.
When you need to use your PIN
You’ll choose how often you need to enter your pin the first time you buy something. If you want to change your setting, use the Settings menu:
- On your watch, open the Google Play Store

Use the Play Store on Wear OS with an iPhone
If you use iPhone or iPad, your watch & phone need to be connected to Wi-Fi to use the Play Store. Not all apps are available to iPhone or iPad users.
