Cast movies & shows to a TV

You can play movies and shows from another device on your TV with a Chromecast device.

Cast videos with a phone or tablet

1. Connect your phone or tablet and your Chromecast to the same wireless network.
2. On your phone or tablet, open Google Play Movies & TV  or Google TV app .
3. At the bottom, tap Library Movies or TV shows.
4. Select a movie or show.
5. Tap Cast .
6. Select your Chromecast from the list.
7. Tap Play.

Tip: You can pause, rewind, or fast forward your video through the app or your device's notifications.

Stop casting to your TV

1. On your phone or tablet, tap Cast .
2. Select your Chromecast from the list.

Playback tips

• HD movie rentals play in HD on Chromecast, even if your phone isn't capable of HD playback.
• Chromecast continues to play your video when your phone or tablet runs out of battery. To access video controls again, connect another device to the Chromecast. To save battery, turn off your device’s screen during playback.
• If you're signed in to YouTube, make sure that you're signed in with the same Google Account.
