Check actors or music in videos

When your video is paused, you may be able to find info cards that can help you check who the actors or actresses are, any related movies, and what songs are included in the video.

You’ll only be able to check info cards if your device is on Android 4.0 and up.

Check if a video will show actors or music

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Play Movies & TV Play Movies.
  2. Select a movie or TV show.
  3. At the bottom, find “More information.”
  4. Check Info cards. If it doesn’t say Enabled, info cards may not be available for that video.

Check who the actors are in a movie or TV show

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, in the video that you are watching, tap the screen to pause the video.
  2. Any actor that has been identified will have a circle on their face.
  3. To learn more about the actor, tap the circle.

If actors in your video aren’t circled:

  • The movie or TV show may not have info cards.
  • The actor may not be facing in the camera, in clear view, or could be in costume.

Check the song’s title or artist

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, tap your screen to pause the video.
  2. If the song can be identified, cards will show the song's title, artist, and where you can download the song, album, or soundtrack on Google Play.

If music cards don't appear:

  • The movie or TV show may not have info cards.
  • Not all songs can be identified.
