Remove devices & add device nicknames

You can hide devices from being displayed on your Google Play installation menus or add nicknames for your devices through your Google Play Store settings.

Change which devices appear on Google Play

Changing which devices are shown on Google Play can be helpful if you've purchased or misplaced a device and you don't want to see a device listed when downloading on Google Play.

You can hide a device by following these steps:

  1. Go to Google Play on your computer.
  2. Click the Settings gear icon > Settings.
  3. Under My Devices, use the "Visibility" checkboxes to select which devices are shown in your menus.

Add a nickname for a device

You can add nicknames to your devices to make them easier to identify when installing apps on Google Play. This can be especially helpful when you have multiple devices associated with your account.

To add a nickname for your device, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Google Play on your computer.
  2. Click the Settings gear icon > Settings.
  3. Locate the device you'd like to add a nickname for and click Edit.
  4. Name your device in the text field that appears under "Nickname."
