We're updating Google Play Games profiles to give you a more unified view of your gaming journey across all your Android devices.
What's New: Your enhanced gaming profile
Starting on September 23, 2025 globally and on October 1, 2025 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you can find your updated gamer profile in Google Play, serving as the central hub for your gamer related experiences.
Your profile will still have key features like achievements and tracking your progress across devices. But there'll also be a suite of new features that will take your gaming experience to the next level like showcasing and tracking your game progress and stats, new ways to build your gaming community, and allowing you to tailor your profile to your liking.
To help you connect with other players, you can make your profile public which will allow you to follow other players and find their updates. Your updated profile will use your current visibility settings by default. Learn how to manage your profile visibility.
With your gamer profile available directly within the Google Play Store, you will be able to easily find all of your profile features directly within Play without needing to switch apps.
Understand data collection changes
To power the new features of your Play Games profile and continuously improve your Play Games experience, we're changing how we handle your gaming data.
What data is used by your new gaming profile features
-
Data that Google collects: This is information about your game activity. This primarily includes details like Play games you’ve installed and played on your devices, including when and how long you’ve played them.
-
Data that Google may receive from participating game developers: For certain games, we may also receive specific information about your in-game activity, such as achievements, leaderboard rankings, events, and saved progress. The participating game developers collect this information based on their terms of service and privacy policies.
-
Important: As a current Play Games profile user, you may be offered a one-time option to import your past gaming activity when you visit Google Play. This activity is based on the information saved in your Google Account through your My Activity controls. If you choose to import it, this historical data will be used to populate the aggregated statistics in your Play Games profile, which gives you a more complete history from the start.
Learn why this data is processed
This data is essential to enable features that enhance your gaming experience by keeping track of your stats and progress across games and devices. This information will be used to:
- Provide Play Games profile features and services (such as stats and progress tracking across games).
- Improve the overall Google Play gaming experience, improve and develop additional features and services, analyze and understand how the features are being used, track outages, and prevent fraud and abuse.
What gamer profile information can participating game developers receive
Participating developers may receive and/or collect information about your profile, activity (within their specific game), and purchases made in their game. To learn more about how game developers use this information, check the developer’s privacy policy.
