Can't find an app

You can install apps, games and digital content on your device from Google Play. On your device, open Google Play and search for content that you want to install.

If you can't find an app on your device, it may be because:

The app isn't available on Google Play

If an app isn't available on Google Play, it's usually because the developer chose to remove the app or the app was removed due to violations of the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement.

The app isn't compatible with your device

You can only download or use an app on your device if the app is compatible with that device.

Individual app developers, not Google Play, determine app compatibility.

To check if an app is compatible with your device:

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Play Store app Google Play.
  2. Tap Search bar.
  3. Search for the app that you want to download.
  4. Tap the app and then About this app or About this game.
  5. Scroll down to find the list of compatible active devices.

You'll only find devices that are linked to your Google Account and that are active in the last 30 days. This shows you the compatibility status, download size and required OS to support the app.

To check if a developer plans to expand compatibility for an app in the future, you can contact the app's developer.

The app isn't supported in your country

In the Google Play Store, you'll only be able to see apps and content that are compatible with your Google Play country. If you change your Google Play country, you may also lose access to in-app content that isn't compatible with your new Play country. If you've moved to a new country or region, learn how to change your Google Play country.

To check if a developer plans to expand compatibility for an app in the future, you can contact the app's developer.

Parental controls are turned on

If parental controls are set up to prevent access to an app or game, you'll not be able to download or use that app or game.

When you set up parental controls on an Android device, you can restrict what content can be downloaded or purchased from the Google Play Store. Learn how to manage parental controls.

If your subscription is billed through Google Play’s billing system, then your subscription may be cancelled, depending on your renewal date and whether the app is reinstated or republished. Learn how to cancel, pause or change a subscription.

For most Google Play purchases, Google doesn't give refunds. However, there are exceptions. Learn about refunds on Google Play.

If you're a developer, to inquire about your app, go to the Play Console Help Centre.
