I only want to upload specific music from my library

You can choose to only upload specific playlists from iTunes or Windows Media Player, or upload music from folders of your choosing. To do so, please follow the instructions below.

Uploading music from specific playlists:

When syncing playlists with iTunes, deleting the playlist in iTunes will also remove the playlist from your Google Play music library.
  1. Click the Google Play Music Manager icon in your system tray at the bottom right of your screen (Windows), menu bar in the upper right corner (Mac) or notifications area (Linux) to access the Google Play Music Manager.
  2. From the 'Upload' tab, select 'Choose by playlist.'
  3. Check the box next to the playlist(s) you'd like to upload music from.
  4. Click 'Upload.'

The ‘Choose by playlist’ option won’t appear unless you’re uploading music from Windows Media Player or iTunes. If you’d like to change the location that you’re uploading music from, select the ’Advanced’ tab in the Google Play Music Manager and click ’Change’.

Uploading music from folders of your choosing:

  1. Click the Google Play Music Manager icon in your system tray at the bottom right of your screen (Windows), menu bar in the upper right corner (Mac) or notifications area (Linux) to access the Google Play Music Manager.
  2. Select Advanced and then Change.
  3. Click Other folders, and select a folder from which you would like to upload music.
  4. Click Continue.

The ‘Add folder’ option won’t appear unless you’re uploading music from ’Other folders’. If you’d like to change the location that you’re uploading music from, select the ’Advanced’ tab in the Google Play Music Manager and click ’Change’.

If you attempt to upload a library containing over 20,000 songs, the Google Play Music Manager will prioritize songs based on a combination of your listening preferences and ratings.
