Upload PDF and EPUB files to your library

You can read PDF and EPUB documents with Google Play Books. When you upload PDF and EPUB files to Play Books, you can read them on any device you sign in to.

You can also use bookmarks, highlights, and notes with PDF and EPUB documents across your devices. These functions work with PDF documents uploaded after January 20, 2026. Learn more about how to add bookmarks, notes and highlights in an ebook.

Upload PDF & EPUB files

1. ​On your computer, go to your Play Books library.
2. From the left, click Your books.
3. At the top, click Upload files.
4. Find the .pdf or .epub file you want to upload.
5. Click Select.

To find a file you uploaded, go to your Uploads library.
