Create a premium, immersive store listing

Note: This feature is available to select partners only.

Overview

The Immersive Header displays a full-width image gallery at the very top of your app's store listing page. This feature is designed to provide a more beautiful and engaging experience that strongly showcases your app's brand and quality.

Availability

This feature is available for select app partners only, games are not eligible at this time.

How to Add Immersive Header Images

You can upload assets directly in Play Console:

  1. Navigate to your app's Default store listing page (Grow > Store presence > Store listing).
  2. Scroll down to the "Graphics" section. You will find upload fields for "Phone immersive header" and "Tablet immersive header."
  3. Upload your assets according to the specifications below. You can drag and drop the images to set their display order.
  4. Click Save. Your new assets will be sent for review and published once approved.

Content Guidelines and Requirements

All Immersive Header images are subject to the standard Google Play Store Listing Policies. In addition, please adhere to the following specific guidelines:

  • No Border Frames: Images with border frames are not permitted.
  • Accurate Representation: Assets must accurately depict your app, brand, or in-app experience.
  • No Interactive Elements: Images cannot contain CTAs (Call-to-Action) buttons or other interactive elements.
  • Quality Review: All submitted assets are subject to our standard content and quality review process before they can be published.

Designing for the Safe Zone

To ensure your key visuals are always visible, place critical elements like logos, characters, or essential text in the center "safe zone." Images may be cropped horizontally or vertically to fit different device screens, and anything outside the safe zone is at risk of being cut off.

Best Practices

To make your Immersive Header as effective as possible, we strongly recommend the following:

  • Tell a Visual Story: Use the sequence of images to guide users through a narrative. Showcase a key workflow, highlight a series of features, or express your brand's identity.
  • Use Unique, High-Impact Visuals: Opt for high-resolution, striking images that are distinct from your regular screenshots. Avoid re-using images that already appear in the main screenshot gallery further down the page.
  • Keep it Clean and Immersive: Avoid text-heavy designs. The best images are clean and let the visuals speak for themselves, creating a more premium feel.
  • Refresh Your Content: Keep your store listing dynamic by periodically updating your Immersive header images to highlight new features, seasonal content, or major app updates.
