By default, Play’s communication is sent to your Play Console account users (depending on their permissions and role). With email recipients, you can add essential people from your organization to receive email notifications without having to grant them access to the Play developer account.
Required Role
Only account owners and admins can edit, delete, and create email recipients.
Notification topics
You can email recipients to receive emails according to the email topic. We recommend that you add email recipients to all topics, to ensure that the right people receive email notifications for your account. You can add individuals or groups as email recipients. It is preferred to add groups to ensure emails go to active employees.
The following topics are available (you must select at least one topic for an email recipient):
- Policy
- Payments and Tax
- Tips, news and opportunities
- Feedback and surveys
To check who is subscribed to receive emails for a certain topic, you can filter the email recipients table by Topic.
Manage topic preferences
You can always edit email recipients topic preferences from the Users and Permissions page. Email recipients can opt out directly from the emails sent from Play (their preferences won’t be reflected in the Console Users and Permissions page).
Some emails are mandatory and they can't unsubscribe from them.
Add email recipient
To add email recipient, do the following:
- In your Developer account, go to the Users and Permissions tab.
- Scroll down to the "Email recipients" section.
- Click Add email recipient.
- In the email address field, enter the email address of the email recipient.
- From the Email notification dropdown menu, select the notification topics that you want this email recipient to receive communications for.
- From the Apps dropdown menu, select the relevant apps that you want this email recipient to receive communications for. If you choose "All" they will receive notifications for all of the apps in the account and account information.
- Click Add.
Edit email recipient
To edit email recipient, do the following:
- In your Developer account, go to the Users and Permissions tab.
- Scroll down to the “Email recipients” section.
- Find the email recipient you would like to edit and click the arrow on the right.
Delete email recipient
To delete email recipient, do the following:
- In your Developer account, go to the Users and Permissions tab.
- Scroll down to the “Email recipients” section.
- Find the email recipient you would like to edit and click the arrow on the right.
- Click Remove email recipient.
