Manage your developer account information

If you need to update your Google Play Developer account information, you can make changes using Play Console.

Set up or change account information

Developer information shown to users on Google Play

If your contact details, developer name or physical address changes, make sure that you update your information in Play Console. Only the account owner can change the developer profile settings, and the information that you provide must comply with Google Play's Developer Programme Policies.

Contact details

  1. Open Play Console.
  2. Go to All apps and select an app.
  3. On the left menu, go to Grow > Store presence > Store settings.
  4. Under 'Store Listing contact details', type your contact email address or website. A contact email address is required to publish or update apps on Google Play. Your contact email address doesn't have to be the same account that you use to sign in to your developer account.
  5. Save your changes.

Developer name

  1. Open Play Console.
  2. Go to Developer page.
  3. Next to 'Developer name', type the developer name that you want to display on Google Play.
  4. Save your changes.

Physical address

To comply with consumer protection laws, developer accounts with paid apps or in-app purchases need to add a physical address to their accounts. If a developer account with paid apps or in-app purchases doesn't have a physical address, it may result in the account's suspension from Google Play.

  1. Open Play Console.
  2. Go to Developer page.
  3. Next to the physical address, type your valid address where you may be contacted. Note that this will be displayed on Google Play.
  4. Save your changes.
Contact information used by Google Play to contact you

Starting from June 2021, developer account owners wanting to update their contact details (for example, email address and contact phone number) must first declare their account type (Personal or Organisation) and provide certain required information.

As part of choosing your account type, you will be required to verify the contact email address and contact phone number that you provide.

Only the account owner can change developer profile settings. Your contact email address doesn't have to be the same account that you use to sign in to your developer account.

  1. Open Play Console.
  2. Go to Account details page.
  3. Select your developer account type.
  4. Complete all the fields for your chosen account type.
    • For a personal account, you must provide the following information:
      • Contact name
      • Contact email address, which must be verified
      • Contact address
      • Contact phone number in international format, which must be verified

Phone numbers in international format begin with a plus (+) sign, followed by the country code, the area code and the phone number:

        +(Country code)(Area code)(Phone number)

        Examples: +14155552671, +441234567890

    • For an organisation account, you must provide the following information:
      • Organisation name
      • Organisation address
      • Organisation phone number, which must be verified
      • Contact name
      • Contact email address, which must be verified
        • Tip: We will use this to contact you about your account. We recommend using an email address associated with your organisation, not a personal email address.

      • Contact phone number in international format
  5. Save your changes.

Account owner email address and country

The account owner's email address and country can't be changed. However, you can create a new account using a different email address or country and transfer your apps to your new account.

Accounts with published or unpublished apps

To transfer apps to a new account, go to our app transfer checklist.

Accounts without apps

If you haven't published any apps using your existing Play Console account, you can create a new account and cancel your existing one.

Payments profile linked to your developer account

After you've created and linked a payments profile to your Play Console account, your linked accounts and payments country setting can't be changed.

If you want to change the payments profile linked to your developer account, you can create a new developer account and payments profile and link the new accounts.

Tip: Payments profile balances can't be transferred between accounts. If you have a payments profile with an outstanding or pending balance, it's a good idea to keep that account open until any remaining balances have been paid out.

    • If you use the Play Console app, you can set up your mobile notification preferences within the app.

Tell us more about your role

Delete a developer account

If you haven't published an app

If you haven't published any apps and want to delete a developer account or transfer all your apps to another account, you can contact our support team. Deleting a Google Account will not automatically delete your developer account.

If you have published an app

If you've published an app using your developer account and want to delete your account, you'll need to:

  1. Sign in to your original account to back up or download your information before requesting an account deletion. If you delete a Play Console account, you won't be able to use it again.
  2. Contact our support team to transfer your apps to another account.
  3. Reply to the app transfer confirmation to close your existing account.

Note:

  • If you want to use the same developer name on a new account, you'll need to change your developer name on your existing account to a different name. Developer names can't be identical.
  • Deleting a Google Account will not automatically delete your developer account.
