Google Pixel Watch Update - September 2024

UPDATE as of 10/10/24

We’re aware of an issue affecting some Pixel Watch 1 and 2 users who experienced their device stuck on a blank screen after receiving this update. As of September 26, 2024, we paused the WearOS 5 rollout to these devices and are actively working on a resolution. See here for more information.

Hello Pixel Watch Community,
 
Pixel Watch 1 and Pixel Watch 2 devices running WearOS 3.5 or WearOS 4.0 will receive the September 2024 software update with the Wear OS 5 upgrade starting today. 
 
The rollout will continue over the next week in phases depending on carrier and device. Users will receive a notification on their watch once the OTA becomes available for their device. We encourage you to update to receive the latest software.

What’s Included
 
The September 2024 software update includes an upgrade to WearOS 5,  including new features, numerous bug fixes, and performance updates for Pixel Watch users. Additionally, app updates via the Playstore will be available for Pixel Watch 1 and Pixel Watch 2 to obtain the grid-view app launcher, improved Camera controls and the Pixel Recorder functionality.

Applicable updates are available for all supported Pixel Watch 1 and Pixel Watch 2 devices.

Google lies. They haven't updated their own watches since they borked the OS 5 update in September. They failed to even update the watched in October. There have a lot of promises about updates, yet they fail to live up to them.

Nov 8th and still no update. Hay Google it would be nice to say Hay we are working on releasing an update but Nothing for us that paid 600 dollars for your watch.. a quick update would be nice

I just want to find out how much longer till my pixel 1 watch is supposed to get the wear OS 0.5 update and I understand that there was some complications when it first rolled out. So when will Google fix this problem so we can keep continuing rolling out the software update where the pixel watch

I spend my days trying to avoid Apple but it just gets harder and harder. At least they have customer service. I messaged customer service with regards to a power cord that died after 2 months for the charging dock. Still no reply and Ive been trying for months. I ended up buying a new dock with the hopes that maybe one day they will let us purchase a new power cord. Soooo dumb. Why are you making life so difficult Google???

My wife has an iPhone with an Apple Watch and though I've been anti-Apple for as long as I could breathe, these issues and lack of updates from Google have me really thinking about ditching Android as a whole and just jumping head-first into Apple. It's not just a quality assurance issue with Google but a complete and total customer service failure. Google thinks they're too big to fail but we aren't the only two that's expressed thoughts of leaving Google all together.

the fuck is my update ? my pixel watch 2 is broken everywhere readings, synching and this and that, not even recording steps after rebootings, and i was hoping the update was going to fix but guess what you bugged it.. its a total shame

We have almost reached the end of October, and this is the latest update I can find about Pixel Watch 1-2-3 updates. Is there not going to be an October 2024 security patch?

Still Stuck on July 2024 update, my watch has not recieved any update post that....tried all steps to update the same.

Yeah we get that gdio53.  But I think it's ridiculous they update the PW2, THEN PULL IT, and then those of us who have already have this pulled update have to wait til Google finally gets around to fix it.  We should be able to revert back to the last update so our watches are stable at least.  That's the part that bugs me.  I get that it's for security reasons, but still we shouldn't have to suffer with a bad update waiting months for a new update.

I think I am there too. So disappointed in the pixel 2. 

Of all of the watches I've tried hands down the Fitbit sense 2 was the best watch i have ever used. I decided on the pixel 2 when they took it's stress and ekg features and added to the pixel 2. Had high hopes.  Just been a bad experience all around but now I don't know what to buy since they killed the Fitbit hardware.

Agree, I bought the pixel watch 2 because of the spo2 app but it only registers my spo2 every third night, pretty much useless.

Fitbit has had an issue for over 2 months now where the steps on my Pixel Watch are 200-500 higher than the Fitbit app. They've been "working on a fix" for ages now and the issue still isn't fixed, so I've lost all faith in Google at this point.

Google should offer to us als pixel watch 1,2 Users to send back our PW1,2 and get the new 3 for free after this big delay to fix the Problem.

I appreciate that but I think it's deplorable that I have to wait 6 months for them to fix their product and they can't be bothered to even offer proper customer support.

Google has promised monthly updates. Stop lying. They never specifically said just the phones get the updates. Google is going to have a class action lawsuit for this BS.
