Hope this fixes the battery drain bug introduced in June's update

My battery life went back to normal. Much better than after the June update.

So glad to hear!

With the June update, my watch started to restart several times randomly. Was hoping the July update would fix it. It's the same. 6 to 7 reboots a day

The update comes with car crash detection meaning it will probably be using more sensors than before causing more battery drain.

Since installing the July 2024 update my Pixel watch 2 battey is only lasting about 19 hours. Before the update it lasted for over 24 hours. Something has caused extreme battery drain.

我7月開始也遇到了電力過度消耗的問題
後來是關閉了車禍檢測
成功的變回正常了!!

Glad to hear, thanks for the info!

Got the update today and the loop goes on forever with "Device is being optimized...".
This has been going on for 2.5 hours now and I've already done a hard reboot. It would finally be nice to see Google break these "optimizations" down to the bare minimum and not force you to leave the watch permanently on the charging puck.

It's done!!! 10 minutes after I started charging my old watch, the pixel 2 watch rebooted, and I now see the July 5th security patch installed. Should've threatened to take out my old watch yesterday!

Great news!

I have a Watch 1 and a Watch 2. Both have been showing "Update is loading" for 4 days.
But nothing more. Whether Bluetooth is on or off, nothing happens. I've already tried everything: restart, hard reset and reset to factory settings. The screen is displayed and nothing is loading. I'm getting desperate.

funny, of course I have VPN off. All network settings have remained unchanged for years. All updates from all devices work without problems for all family members. Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7Pro and my Pixel 8Pro. Nest also gets updates without any problems. And of course the watches. Just not the July update.

This update destroyed my watch. 1 day I was charging my watch as normal. As I unplugged it I saw the update finishing. Since then the battery will get stuck at 50%. If it does charge it is extremely slow. I have a pixel 1 and it is only 1.5 years old. How can this be fixed or remedied?

My wife has the same watch. So, we have tried both chargers.  Believe it or not my watch is fairing better than hers.  Her screen went completely black and won't turn on at all. But that's a separate issue.

Did it on my pixel watch 1 and it still works like before. Don't be scared to do it just because 2 people had problems. It's not rebooting, still charging properly and battery drain after an update is normal just do the update before going to sleep like that the watch has the whole night to properly finish the update.

Does this update include audio cues while running yet? This must be your most requested feature looking at the forums (for the last FOUR years). We are all staying with Garmin until this is fixed. Such a basic feature for runners. Can we have a timeline for this update?

You're welcome!

Mine quit charging altogether. Have cleaned the back, cord is fine. Changed to different outlets. It shows a red battery and the time of and on.

Sounds like your cord/puck might not be working anymore. I'd suggest replacing it, let us know if that helps

Awesome! So does the latest security patches on Pixel Watch includes translations in the current update?
Jul 23, 2024
Not sure what you are asking. Will you ask it in a different way?

I actually went to Verizon and the issue seems to be with plug adapter for the C port. At home I have to maintain pressure (push the C adapter into the plug adapter) to get it to charge. It charged fine at the store when they put into their c port there. What is weird is the same plug adapter continues to charge my Google Pixel 8 phone without difficulty

First I'd like to say this community has been awesome. So many people have tried to help me and others. But I just don't know what else to do.
My pixel watch 2 has been a disappointment. The random rebooting issue persists. I have tried every suggestion on these posts from the past few releases. I've contacted support. Their only suggestion is to try rebooting it to see if that fixes it.
Yes, they telling me to reboot it to solve a random reboot issue.

Yes ive reset it, upgrades every patch release when available, have done  multiple factory reset. Disconnected reconnected to apps. Have run it with and without GPS.
It's basically a very expensive step tracker that reboots when you trying to track steps.

I have no idea what else to do. Support doesn't help. Anyone know what a good replacement is, online everywhere now says the pixel watch 2 is the best watch, and I really wanted it to be but it's been a horrible experience for me.
I appreciate everyone's help in past.

So sorry to hear about your experience. Let's hope the August update fixes it 🤞 After the update goes through. Factory reset the watch again, be sure to start from fresh and but from a previous backup. Let us know how that goes

Battery drain since the June update is horrible and July's update didn't help the battery issue at all. It is affecting a lot of Pixel Watch owners and personally forcing me to go back to my Samsung watch because the Pixel won't even make it 10 hours.
