Pixel Watch 2 randomly reboots
It's not an ideal situation. If this happens in the middle of a workout or during sleep tracking, I'd be pretty annoyed.
I've seen other posts online from people with the same issue. But there's no consensus or acknowledgement by Google if it's a software bug (that could be fixable) or a hardware defect (that would require RMA).

What is the first step you recommend to try and sort it?

Any news from Google on this? Please tell me you've found a software issue and that you are working on a fix.

The best plan would be to contact pixel watch support here:
Keep going in the troubleshooting process until you reach the option to call or chat.

- Long press the crown and the side button of your Google Pixel Watch for around 20 seconds until it shows a dark screen with the white 'G' logo.
- If your watch is currently turned off, press the crown for a few seconds to turn it on.
- As soon as the watch shows the white 'G' logo, tap the upper left-hand and lower right-hand edges of the watch face screen at the same time. The watch will go into 'Fastboot' mode.
- Once in fastboot mode, press the side button next to the crown to scroll down.
When 'Recovery mode' is highlighted, press the crown. The message 'No command' will appear on the watch face.
- Press and hold the crown and swipe up on your screen at the same time. A debug screen will appear on the watch face.
- Swipe down until 'Wipe data/factory reset' is highlighted.
- Swipe right to reset your watch and PIN.
- Swipe right again to confirm.
Not sure if that will help, I need to test for a couple of days, but this might help others.

Any update about this? Did you face random reboots or untracked sleeps again after fastboot factory reset?

After contacting Google Support I ended up getting a replacement, that worked flawlessly for about 3 days, while I had a cold and didn't get outside.
Today I went for a walk, tracked it with the Fitbit app and guess what? About 30 minutes in I check the watch, it's locked. I enter the pin and I'm greeted with the "Starting..." prompt.
I really hope these complains are read by the Watch team and they fix it. I'm sure it's just a software issue but I'm unclear if they are aware of it.

So if you get a replacement and this problem affect this new one, it seems to be a SW / Fitbit app issue (I have installed version 3.15.1.572936592.release version of Fitbit App, updated on 13 oct 2023)... Or not...
The Pixel Watch Team should check this, of course, but I think Fitbit Support Team have to check this too, because it's a kind of joke that you released a supposed premium watch with lots of bugs with your own fitness app service and nobody explain customers what's going on... (take a view on Fitbit Community forum for some problems with Pixel Watch 2 and Fitbit app & services)

I haven't seen the "locked forever issue" so far (where the device gets locked while wearing, and if you unlock it it quickly goes back to a locked state until rebooted). Maybe they fixed that one.
