How to fix notification issues on your Google Pixel Watch

Use this article when you troubleshoot your Google Pixel Watch's notifications. For information on how to set up the notifications on your Pixel Watch, go to Set alarms and manage notifications on Google Pixel Watch.

Check your settings

Phone notifications for the Google Pixel Watch app are turned off.
  1. On your phone, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Notifications and then App notifications and then Google Pixel Watch.
  3. Turn on All Google Pixel Watch notifications.

Tip: You can customise your notification preferences. However, you need to turn on General notifications so that your Google Pixel Watch app's phone notifications aren't silent.

  1. On your phone, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Notifications and then App notifications and then Google Pixel Watch.
  3. Turn on All Google Pixel Watch notifications.
  4. Go to Other, then tap General notifications.
  5. Turn on Show notifications, then select Default.

  1. On the Google Pixel Watch app , go to Notifications.
  2. In the 'Manage watch notifications' section, make sure that Mute notifications from phone and Hide silent notifications are turned off.
Notifications for the Google Pixel Watch app are set to silent on your phone, and silent notifications are hidden in the Google Pixel Watch app.
  1. On the Google Pixel Watch app , go to Notifications.
  2. In the 'Manage watch notifications' section, make sure that Hide silent notifications is turned off.
Notifications received while you're using your phone don't appear on your watch if they're set to mute.
  1. On the Google Pixel Watch app , go to Notifications.
  2. In the 'Manage watch notifications' section, make sure that Mute notifications from phone is turned off.

Notifications are set to silent when you're not wearing your watch.
  1. On your Google Pixel Watch, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Vibration and then Silence watch when not being worn.
  3. Make sure that Silence watch when not being worn is turned off.
The following modes are turned on and therefore notifications are disabled:
  • Bedtime
  • Do Not Disturb
  • Cinema
  1. On your Google Pixel Watch, swipe down on the watch face.
  2. Make sure that Bedtime, Do Not Disturb and Cinema mode are turned off.

Tip: Disabled icons have a dark background.

Check your connection

If you're not receiving notifications, confirm that your Pixel Watch is connected to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or that you have an LTE-enabled watch.

Tip: The phone paired with your watch must be turned on to receive notifications.

Verify that you're connected to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi:

  1. On the Google Pixel Watch, swipe down.
  2. Tap Settings and then Connectivity and then Bluetooth.
  3. Turn on Bluetooth.
  4. Swipe right to go back to the menu and tap Wi-Fi.
  5. Turn on Wi-Fi.

If you get a network connection error, you can fix issues connecting to Wi-Fi.

If you don't use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, confirm that your watch has an LTE operator plan:

  1. On your Google Pixel Watch, swipe down.
  2. Tap Settings and then Connectivity and then Mobile.
